The Cloud Observers Met Badge is now available on the Drop Down menu at the Forever Jack Web Site. The site is well worth a visit but be prepared for wallet and purse emptying decisions. John (Bungy) Williams has purchased a number of items already and reports that Service and Quality levels are very good.

Bungy has kindly sent a picture of himself ‘modelling’ a sweatshirt, complete with our badge and additional words of Bungy’s choosing underneath along with a picture of the actual item. Any references to Kate Moss and Facebook are purely incidental!

A METEOROLOGICAL MISCELLANEA – This booklet is a collection of anecdotes, stories, poems dating back to WW2. Most of the collection was gathered by Gill whilst researching information for a future book on the History of the Met Branch. It was felt that these anecdotes would be out of place in the book but would be a great shame if they were lost, hence this booklet. The booklet is A4 size consisting of 32 pages plus cover at a cost of £5 which includes P&P.

Publications for Sale

At long last volume two of the Meteorological Miscellanea is available, hot off the press. Due to the decline in acceptance of long print runs by our rather ancient A3 printer and although edited this project had to be put on hold. Before vat went up we decided to replace said printer and have now been able to reproduce this hallowed tome. With several pieces by George Blewitt and others by Pete “Klankey” Latham not to mention various pieces resurrected from old branch newsletters, this makes a worthwhile purchase to while away those first few cold, dark months of the year. It is always possible your name may be mentioned; did you ‘spin a dit’ for a past newsletter? Our very own Webmaster was persuaded to put pen to paper! For those of you interested in the puzzles on our download section we are now able to offer a collection of twelve puzzles, complete with answers in book form. A few have been on the web site but there are others, we hope a little more challenging, created just for this book. Our puzzle compiler is Peter Squibb and TSB, who has very little met knowledge, has been able to complete all but one.
Meteorological Miscellanea Vol 2 will cost £6 per copy inc P&P and the Puzzle book £1.50 inc P&P – cheques payable to Cloud Observers. Both books may be ordered separately but should you order both, the puzzle book will cost just £1. For further details contact the secretary.
